Loose Laid Ballasted Systems

The loose laid systems include the application of the membrane without the need to secure it to the substrate against wind load because the membrane is protected with the chosen ballast system. All types of ballast systems that can be used on top of KÖSTER roofing membranes are:

• Gravel ballast

  Suitable products: KÖSTER TPO 1.2/1.5/1.8/1.8 F/2.0/2.0 F

• Loose-laid tiles

  Suitable products: KÖSTER TPO 1.2/TPO 1.5/1.8/1.8 F/2.0/2.0 F

• Reinforced concrete for parking

  Suitable products: KÖSTER TPO 2.0/2.0 F, KÖSTER ECB 2.0/2.0 F

For each type of ballast system, a proper protection should be used to ensure the protection of the membrane. The type of protection is chosen according to the ballast characteristics.
